I had a horrible day at work today. Really. horrible. So today's post is a couple conversations from work today.
me: team 467
Client: Hi, I have a question about my case.
Me: ok, what's your question?
C: How's my case?
Me: uh. What do you mean?
C: How's my case?
Me: uh.
Client: Well? Where are my benefits? She said they’d be there today.
Me: Who said they’d be there today?
C: The lady I talked to yesterday.
Me: OK, let me pull up the case notes.
Me: Ok, I see that the other department got what they needed and so we can start processing it, but we need time to process.
C: You mean you can’t do it now?
Me: um, no. we have to process stuff in the order we receive it. Right now we’re working on stuff we got June 27th (aside, this is very good) And we got your stuff July 5th.
C: So you’ll do it tomorrow?
Me: I can’t promise you that.
C: Well, I need my benefits.
Me: well we’re doing the best we can, the sooner you get stuff into us the sooner we can process it.
C: well I got it to you right away.she is angry now
Me: We got it yesterday, you were supposed to report it to us in January.
C: well my stuff is important I need it processed. Can you process it?
Me: We have to process in the order that we receive things. So we need time to get to it.
C: So when will you get to it?
Me: I can’t give you an exact date, we have 30 days from the date we receive something to process it, It shouldn’t take that long though.
C: So what you’re telling me is that you screwed up and so I don’t get my benefits?
Me: *blink* *blink*
C: You know what; you’re a dumbass can I talk to your supervisor?
Me: She’s in a meeting; would you like her voice mail?
C: No, I want to talk to her.
Me: well, she’s not here I can give you her voice mail.
C: What’s her name?
Me: Barb
C: What’s her last name?
Me: I can’t give you her last name?
C: Well can I have her phone number?
Me: I can’t give that out, I can give you her voice mail and she will return your call.
C: Give me your name.
Me: Aurora.
C: What’s your last name?
Me: I’m not telling you my last name.
C: Tell me your last name.
Me: No.
C: Is it because I’m black? Are you racist?
Me: Ma’am, we are on a telephone, I cannot see your skin color. I’m not giving you my last name because you have been yelling at me for the past 10 minutes. I am ending this phone call.

Me: Team 467
C: Yes, can I talk to Barb?
Me: absolutely.
transfer
Barb proceeds to rip the client a new one for being unreasonable and promises her that her things will be processed when we get to them and not a minute sooner.
Convo 2
Me: Team 467.
Client: Do you need my case #?
Me: Nope I have it, how can I help you?
C: Why isn't my case processed yet?
Me: Well, actually your medical is open and we're almost done with your other stuff.
C: Do you know how long it will be?
Me: tomorrow or Friday
C: But my medical is open?
Me: yep (cheery voice)
C: ok Thank you. Bitch.
Me: blink.
