The following PSA is running on internet radio right now. Its about education and the importance of parental involvement.
An African-American (Black? It's so hard to keep up) principal is standing at the head of the class, calling roll of students parents. (Names not accurate, everything else is.)
"Susie's mom?"
"Present."
"Brian's dad?"
"Present."
"Lisa's Dad? *pause* Lisa's dad? *no answer* Well, maybe he on his way."
um, excuse me you have a public service announcement about education and you have someone say "Maybe HE on his way?" The correct statement would be maybe he IS on his way, or even Maybe he's on his way.

I love idiotic examples too. The only sad part is that Dawn, you are among a very small percentage of folks who'd actually notice. That scares me.
