Cop Out

Courtney tagged me, so here we go. Thanks Court.

10 years ago: Ten years ago I was starting my junior year of high school, working at Best Buy, dating Chad (whoa) getting dumped by Chad because I was hot for Chris Thompson and he (Chad) knew it. I was picking a college, sneaking out my bedroom window at night, (my mother never knew). Running from cops frequently because we were dumbasses and driving drunk. God, we were losers.

5 years ago: I was living in a house in Moorhead with 6 other women (bad, bad idea). I changed my major from music to elementary education, prolonging my college education for another 2.5 years. I met Toni. Was working in the union (best job ever, so far). Nothing more exciting than that.

1 year ago: I just had my one year review at my job! So one year ago I was leaving my full-time job at Wells Fargo to work for Hennepin County in Human Services. Thank God. (I just quit my part-time work at WF today). I love my job. The rare occasions when I get to drag a family out poverty into a liveable situation makes the whole thing worth it.

Yesterday: I went to work from 6:45am -3:15pm. I got to work, and my boss asked me why I was there. Apparently I took yesterday off, well, I don't know why I did, so all day at work yesterday I sat there wondering why I had taken the day off and if I was missing something. Then, I met Nick, Erika, and Kristie at Champp's in Burnsville for happy hour. Erika and I drank a lot of tequila, (only 2 margaritas each, but those babies were loaded) and got a little loopy. So after sitting there for a few hours, we head to Target in search of moJIto buckets. We found them, after a couple missed exits and incorrect lane changes (my fault, not Nick's, who was driving) So all four of us bought a bucket, then we headed to a liquor store to buy rum to put in our moJIto buckets. Then we headed home and I went to bed, to sleep off the tequila because I had to work at 8 this morning.

Wow, your 10 years ago part sounds exactly like my life 13 years ago. (Except I'm working at Best Buy now, not then - and I just quit. Wugh.)

Been following your blog, nice to "meet" you!
