I gave nick directions to my house (even though he's been here before) and waited patiently for him to show up. About twenty minutes after I was expecting him, he calls me, asking "am I supposed to be in Farmington?" Um, no. Thats about 20 minutes past my house. Hee. He missed the exit because he was
The Fray opened up, and the bass player is from Minneapolis, so there were a lot of Jimmy fans there, (Jimmy is the bass player, duh). Jimmy did a couple haiku's, which while not entirely poetic, they were correct, and mildly entertaining. They played maybe 5 songs? It seemed really short. They're kind of poppy, but entertaining. And the lead singer has this amazing voice. There is something really different about his voice. I love it.
Then I had a couple ciders, very quickly, got a little wobbly.
And then. Ben Folds. I just love this guys music. He opened with Bastard, and I momentarily feared that he was going to just go down Songs for Silverman, but he didn't. He played a wonderful selection of music, both his solo stuff and Ben Folds Five stuff, including Army, which, is a necessity. The only piece missing, in my opinion, was Kate. He could easily have left Brick out and played Kate instead. When Brick started, I whined a bit, and the girl in front of me said, "But this is the only song I know!" It made me sad for her. When he came out for the encore, he played Narcolepsy and One Angry Dwarf and 200 Solemn faces. His fingers were moving so fast on the keys they were blurry. It was like watching a film on fast forward. Am.az.ing.
A good time was had by all.

I can't believe Nick got lost because he was talking to himself. That's really funny.
Do you know how jealous I am of you? You got to go to an awesome concert, drink ciders (there is nowhere to buy ciders here either), and take yesterday off from work.
I prefer "practicing my moot court oral argument" to "talking to myself." Just sayin'.
Nick seems to make a habit of missing exits.
I edited it nick. better?
And rach, I'm sorry you're jealous. Don't be. Someday you'll live down here and we'll drink ciders all the time. And play hooky from work and do, um, stuff.
Thanks, aurora, though you really didn't have to change it. :-)
And it wasn't my fault the first time I missed an exit! Hoser.
I didn't say it was! Erika did!
I want to drink ciders and play hooky too.... Can I bring my house up there?
absolutely.
So glad you had a fun time! Makes me long for a show to go to!
You know, Dawn, you're totally right about the word verification thing. What a pain in the ass!
