For my Canadian Friends

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!

Five reasons to be proud you're Canadian, and maybe one to not be so proud of...

- Canada was the first country in the world to asopt a policy of multiculuralism.
- Canada has the world's largest national park. (Wood Buffalo National Park)
- Canada consistently leads the world in adult literacy.
- Canada has the worlds largest bar in the world. (Lulu's in Kitchener, Ontario.)

*According to one study, Winnpeg is the dandruff capital of the world.

Comment spam has a lengthy reach. Sigh.

So is it the first one that's the bad one?

dawnmarie said...

um, no, the bad one would be the dandruff, punk.

i happen to like dandruff, i mean WINNIPEG... it's not a bad place.

maybe we should go there instead of bismarck. 'cause then we'd be old enough to smoke and drink and say "eh?".

*ahem* We can smoke, drink and say "Yah sure you betcha" in Bismarck. Just sayin'.

Punk? Who are you calling punk, ya hoser??

dawnmarie said...

ok. I admit, now I'm confused.

People are totally co-opting my Anonymous title.

dawnmarie said...

ok. thats what I thought. The "hoser" threw me off, because you "anonymous the first" have never called me hoser. Whereas "anonymous the second" calls me and others hoser frequently.

if its who I think it is. I'm so confused.

Anonymous said...

Ok, I am now known as anonymous the second. Hosers.

dawnmarie said...

yep, definately know who it is now.

Am I the only one that wants to check out Lulu's? I've never been to Kitchener...

Thanks for mentioning this, Aurora. I've been surprised at the number of Americans who ackowledged the holiday. Is it because of your Canadian friends? Or would you have known anyway?

And Cassidy: I know only a handful of people who had turkey this year. Thankfully, I was one of that handful.

Carly, A friend of mine in college was from Canada and we make a point of acknowledging it every year.
