May no portent of evil be attached to the words I say

couldn't think of a quote for this post. blech. anyway, updates:

health: I'm feeling good, went on a fairly long walk last night, and had quite a bit of energy even after we got home. I've eaten solid foods and haven't thrown up since friday. I'm not taking the anti-nausea pills anymore, so i'm not nearly as tired. (those buggers were drwosy inducing things).

school: I'm done with my personal statement, my resume' is done, my first reference is in my hands. Saturday I'm driving to Prior Lake to pick up my second reference from my former boss, and then I just have to send the check.

work: I'm doing ok, i'm not nearly as unhappy as I was a week or two ago. I'm no longer looking for another job, and i never heard back from any of the jobs I applied for, so I'm guessing those are a no-go. There was one job that I had some good feedback from, but they never called again, so oh well.

family: haven't seen my mom in a couple weeks, which is kind of weird for us, but we also don't live a mile from each other anymore. i'm supposed to go to a birthday party for a nephew this weekend, but i'm not sure i'm going to be able to. my mother was also planning on having a little family dinner (complete with step-sisters) on Sunday, pretty sure she just tried this so I could bring nicholas with me, but he can't go anyway.

friends: as far as i know everyone is good. Rach got a job, sarah got a haircut and theresa is having an affair with a heating pad. I'm going up to st. cloud next friday to hang out with Toni for the night, and so i can drive nick's drunk-ass back to the cities... JoAnna came over on Saturday to hang out with me, we watched movies, and she brought me three books, love you Jo! Megan called me yesterday to ask me about last weekend, and said "It's about time something happened to you!" Thanks Meg. I think that's about it on the friend front. oh! Except that I've been building Briañ up to one of my co-workers, just in case.

so, that's it. nothing spectacular. Baseball in person in 18 days. and it is snowing right now.

hi toni:)

beth - things are lining back up. I was out of control for awhile there.

Lauren, yep! I'm a control freak by nature, and so the past few weeks have been HELL on me.

aaaand, i just bought our tickets to the home opener! yahoo! baseball baby!

Sounds like things are coming together. I'm glad you're not too unhappy with work anymore. Everybody has crappy periods like that. One will be coming on for me anytime now...

And I was thrilled to find a postcard from Wrigley Field this morning! Thanks SO much for thinking of me. You're the best, Dawn!

Sarah, i love dome dogs and hot dogs. So I'll have one of those.

Carly, you were the only postcard I sent from Chicago, and i had to call Sarah to get your address!

T, I'm sorry to hear that. Go out and drink this weekend, you'll feel better.

SweeT!!! You didn't tell that I am drunk all the time did you?...lol

drinking can and will be done. I'm going to West Side Story tomorrow afternoon at Chanhassen. I don't know if I'll be able to drink since I'm going through a campus organization.

Brian, are you drunk right now?

dawnmarie said...

Briañ, I have not mentioned your drinking habits. and, are you drunk now?

Theresa, tell me what you think of it. I went last month and liked it a lot even if the cast was waaaaaaaaay too old to be playing the parts they played. the woman who played anita was a phenomenal dancer though.

i like how my getting a haircut is of the same magnitude as rachel getting a job. hee.

dawnmarie said...

well, i had to have something from everyone!

Sarah said...

no, it's funny because me getting a significant amount of hair cut off IS a big deal. :)

dawnmarie said...

i am really really tempted to get my hair cut.

Sarah said...

do it! do it! do it!

haha, do whatever you want. i just needed a change.

dawnmarie said...

don't tempt me! I can finally put it in a ponytail! my problem is that when it gets this long, all i want to do is put it in a ponytail. especially for the summer.

I do the same thing, Dawn. I grow it out for a while, then realize that I only ever put it up and that it would look way better short and chop it off. It's pathetic that I don't know better at this stage and always think I will grow it out.

That mine was the only card you sent makes it an even sweeter gesture. You're awesome. I hope the Twins win the...er...um...win it all this year!!! You deserve it!
(I know, it's the World Series.)

Carly, I love, love what my hair looks like short, but I have curly hair. Like, Lauren's (from what I can tell of her profile pic) and in the summer humidtity it just gets wider and wider and wider.
