Woman of the house

Awhile ago, Carly posted a picture of this house, and I fell in love with it. It has everything I want in a house, except for the fact it is in another country.
A couple weeks ago, Nick and I were taking a walk, which we do frequently, and we walked past this house. This house is nearly perfect. It would most definately need some work, a nice yellow finish, and a deep red door, to start. The porch is nice and big, perfect for a porch swing. And not only is this in the correct country, it's only two blocks from where I live now. There's another one, a few blocks to the east that I want even more, but i didn't drive by that one with my camera today.

Funny you should post this today. I was just thinking about my house before I painted it. I'm not sure that I have any "before" pictures, but it was a lot less cute. White with tacky blue wooden shutters and a mismatched grey garage! God, and the inside was mint green. I realize my dark walls may not appeal to everyone, but who likes mint green? Plus it had god-awful wallpaper border.

My point? Who knows. Maybe that a few cans of paint can make a world of difference.

I [heart] my house, but I don't think that's going to come as a surprise to anyone.

Awww, cute! Part of the fun of buying a house (or moving into a new place) is getting all "you"-ish. You know?

PS - I liked the recap of your top 10 posts!

sarah, i heart your house too.

rachel, i know, my #1 requirement in a house is that it be amenable to a porch swing. (that's a requirement in a husband too)

dem, I do too, but it would definately need some work.

thanks toni.

rocket, the other house i like, that i'll try to get a picture of sometime, has a screened in porch, which i'm not fond of, but I think I could take it out and make it an open air porch.

lauren, i've never lived in a house, so it's a dream of mine to someday own my own. right now, it isn't going to happen. but someday.
