...ok, not really, just wanted to see if Briañ still pops in around here.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So, Ms. Carly scolded me a bit today because I haven't updated since Sunday. Well, I have to tell you the truth, I don't have anything to say. So, a bit about my current surroundings. An exercise in observation, if you will.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I am sitting on my couch, outside it has finally begun raining. We've been promised rain for days, and it's finally here, breaking the intolerable humidity. Tolerable for humans, perhaps, but very intolerable for my hair. My television is broadcasting the sights and sounds of a baseball game being played on the east coast, but my attention is focused on the sounds of the rain. Nick is laying on my living room floor, with his feet up in the air occasionally, like a little kid. He's doing homework. Property. Because it's going to be on the bar exam. And he needs to pass the bar exam. Cause he's a lawyer, and that's important. I'm sitting on my couch, typing on my laptop. My hair is a bit damp from my shower earlier this evening.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Last weekend, I visited Sarah in SD. In her shower, I saw some new shampoo I thought I'd try. So when I returned home, I bought some, and I have to say, I rather like it. The smell isn't overwhelming like a lot of shampoos
-------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't have a ton of plans for this weekend. Tonight, apparently I'm watching Nick do homework, and watching the baseball game. Earlier, I went out for happy hour with some co-workers. Fun, but it's tough since I can't drink anything, and it's hard to find foods I can eat out at restaurants. Tomorrow, I need to do laundry, I have simple plans to watch the USA/Italy world cup match, and it's my goddaughter, Sami's, birthday, so there's a party that I may or may not attend. Sunday, I have zero plans. Zero.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
I was totally just reminded of a letter I have to send. I'm going to do that after I publish this. Someone remind me.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
The baseball game just ended. Twins win, fyi. I know Nerdine cares, as well as my "baseball friends", although Nerdine is on vacation, so it'll be a long while before she reads this.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Nick is ordering a pizza right now. Not something I am "allowed" to eat, but I've been really good all week, and I'm allowed to falter here and there. Besides, I'm allowed to have bread (crust), tomatoes (sauce), ham (canadian bacon), and mozerella. So really, I'm good to go.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok, I don't think I can pull anymore random things out of my brain, so I'm signing off, and I'm going to mail that letter, so you don't have to remind me.

Ms. Carly. I like that. Thanks for posting and giving me something to read after a long, long night at work.
Did you mail that envelope yet?
You have been good this week. I hope that pizza was delicious!
Note: It's a pain in the butt to comment on random posts like this without a pop-up window. I can't remember what else I was going to say... Is this your way of padding the comment tally around here?? ; )
Oh yeah, you can't just review a shampoo and not reveal the brand! Come on now. Or is this your way of making sure of protecting your find and ensuring that not everyone will be walking around with the same not overwhelming smell as you?
Have a fun weekend!
you're welcome, Carly. I have the enevelope all ready to mail, all I need to do is leave my apartment, and it will go off in the mail.
the pizza was great.
you can click above where it says show original post you know.
oh, suave healthy curls. I like it!
You too!
I'm a big fan of Dove shampoo. Dove haircare products in general, actually.
And it was just pouring here for about 2 minutes, and then it quit just as fast as it started. Goofy weather.
suave rocks 'cause wal-hell sells it for $1.49. i like to alternate between the healthy curls and the smooth and sleek.
but when it's this rainy/humid, nothing really matters, does it?
Wow, Dawn. You're such a knowledgeable woman of the world. I had no idea I could click Original Post. I haven't ever even seen that before. Thanks for the tip.
Random posts are fun.
I agree with Rachel. Dove products are good. I switch between that and use Aveda to remove the chlorine from my hair. I don't want it turning green and slimy - something which will happen if not using the proper shampoo.
Hey I am still here:)
I agree with the statements about Dove hair care products; in fact just about everything I use in the morning is Dove.
And as a total side note: I love random posts! They make me randomly happy.
eeew! i can't stand Dove hair care products. the smell makes me gag.
I love random posts.
Did you send the letter? ;)
I share the liking of random posts. One thing that I have found helps my really curly hair in humidity is actually volumizing shampoo and conditioner (I like Pantene) and smoothing cream. Sounds counter-intuitive, I know, but because the shampoo/conditioner is so light, my hair can absorb more of the moisture in the air, thus not overwhelming my folicles with moisture and leading to frizz. Or something like that.
Sorry that turned into a curly hair care guide. Just sayin'.
*scribbles notes furiously*
any tips you got are much appreciated!
*echoes sarah's thoughts on help*
I wash my hair every other day (only if i've used no product, like i did a french twist/clip or something, if i used product, it gets washed) but i condition every day. this sometimes helps.
