T-trust me. Everyone will know when I'm getting married, cause I'll be so excited.
Ike- they aren't keeping it secret. Her family and friends know, and his brother knows. He just won't tell his parents, because for some reason he thinks they'll frown on marrying someone he's been dating less than 6 months, and someone he sold his house and quit his job so he could move from louisiana to minnesota and work 3 part-time jobs with no benefits for. I wonder why they'd say that was a bad idea?
Meghann- I totally understand that. I struggle with whther or not to invite my father to my wedding when I get married.
If you're not telling your parents because you think they'll disapprove, then you don't have strong enough conviction in the decision yourself to stand up to them and shouldn't be getting married. IMO
(I also agree that everyone will know I'm engaged. I had friends who didn't want a wedding, but they still told their parents they were engaged. And called after the wedding.)
I'm back I'm back I'm back! Ok so you probably guessed I'm back... And guess what was waiting for me in my mailbox? Two CD's from you! YAY! I was worried I only got bills in the mail (I got a few of those too, but easily forgot about them when I found the envelope from you...)
So now I'm going to put the laptop in my lap, pop in CD 1 and blog away...
I've known him and his parents since I was 15 years old. They do have a close relationship. But, I also admit that my judgement is clouded because I do.not.think.this.weddingshould.happen.

I'd lean toward saying the same thing, Dawn, but I will keep that in mind anyway. Yikes.
That's some good advice there.
I'm pretty sure I'd be so excited that people would get sick of hearing me say that I'm engaged. Or at least that's how I think it should work.
Maybe they are going to try to keep it a secret until the day of the wedding and then spring it on people.
"Surprise! I'm getting married today!"
like the celebrities do it!
i didn't tell my grandparents until the day i got married... but that's because i didn't want them there.

I'll tell everyone I'm engaged, but very few will be invited to the wedding.
