JoAnna: The take everywhere friend

The summer between my last semester of classes and my first round of student teaching, I worked at the mall. One day, I was standing on a ladder, helping to change the floorset. Jo was working that day as well. She walked past my ladder and said "I almost called you the other day, because I wanted to see a movie, and I thought 'Dawn seems like she would be fun to see a movie with'" I replied with "Well you should have, I don't have any other friends!"

So we went to a movie, and we've never looked back. We went to see a movie and have dinner on our "first date". The deal was i 'd pick the restaurant, and she'd pick the movie. TGI Friday's had just come out with a new chicken dish I wanted to try, so I picked Friday's. While we were sitting at dinner, i asked what movie she wanted to go see. She said Pirates of the Carribbean. I wasn't wholly interested in it at the time, but I said sure. While we were waiting for the check, JoAnna leaned in a confessed "I've already seen PotC, but I really want to see it again." I sighed inwardly, and said that was fine with me.

Once we got to the movie, it was about to start, and Jo leaned over to make another confession. "This is actually the third time I've seen this movie." I couldn't help it. I laughed. How funny was she? Very funny. (I did end up loving the movie. Who doesn't? I mean it's a great film!)

We've been friends for several years now, and I always say Jo is my take anywhere friend. She's flexible, and she fits in with any group of people I'm with. She was the first friend of mine to meet Nick's mom and sister (Rach is the other, but JoAnna's mine, and Rach is mine and Nick's), and Nick's mom thinks she's just the best thing ever.

I have to say, I kind of agree with Nick's mom on that.
