If Rachel can count down to her birthday from six months out, I can count down and let you all know there are 42 days left until Christmas. I love Christmas. Love it. I hate Thanksgiving for reasons I won't go into, but I love Christmas. I don't love the commercialism of it, but I love giving, and getting, (I'll be honest, I like them, feel free to send them anytime) presents.
I don't put up Christmas decorations or my tree, or anything like that until after Thanksgiving, don't worry, I may love Christmas, but there's a time and a place for it. That time is after the fourth Thursday in November. (How do Canadians decide when it's apporopriate? Carly? Since your Thanksgiving is in October? Maybe I'll start using the Canadian Thanksgiving as my benchmark...)
Rachel is done with her Christmas shopping, I haven't even started, although I have good ideas for 50% of the people on my list.
But come on. I'm a blogger. Which means I'm selfish, narcissistic and self-absorbed. So this is MY Christmas list. Lately, I've been on a very long and involved domestic kick. So this year, most of the items on my list are kitchen items. Which kind of sucks for Nick, because I've forbidden him from getting me anything kitchen-y
My list:
Roasting pan
muffin tins
cast iron skillet
cake carrier
red canisters (for flour, sugar, etc)
red cookie jar
serving dishes, platters, etc. (reds)4 red napkins, from Target, Rach knows what they look like.
6 red placemats, to match the two I already have.
8 napkin rings. pretty ones.
Like I said, poor Nick. I'm just not helping him, am I?
So there's my list. Feel free to have anything directly shipped to me, email me for the address. . .
Wow, I am a greedy little bugger, aren't I?

bold.
what? bloggers are intrinsically narcissitic. It's all about me baby. me me me.
I did it last year too, I think, and for my birthday.
remember the handcuffs? never did get those.
Omigod, I'm going to die of shock.
Toni, I know!
that's a strong statement and i think i'm offended.
mwah. love you sarah.
poor nick.
Apparently, Christmas is all about Dawn so that February can be all about Rachel.
Continuing with the red theme, maybe you should look at silicone muffin pans. Mine have always worked well. Plus, they're easier to store because you can bend them to fit into smaller spaces.
It's like you're nesting. You even email me about recipes. This is just getting weird.
Toni has a good point. Is there something you're not telling us, Dawn? Hmm? Do we need to commence with the wild speculation again?
Good grief, no. I'm not pregnant, or getting married or anything else. Wild speculation on those would not be amusing, please don't.
I never said you were either pregnant or getting married, it's just like you are nesting. Interests change over time and you're just more interested now, I think it's great!
Hee. I was just kidding on the speculation part.
Toni, i know that's not what you meant.
i also know it's what Rachel meant. . .
Nick could get you that wallet that matches that purse that you got at the mall kiosk.
Not kitchen-y, some thoughtful.
well what I want him to buy is a puppy.
Dawn, you're wrong.
A PUPPY!?!?!?! He should get one!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not greedy at all. Compared to me, you're seriously low maintenance!
How do we decide when to get started on Christmas stuff? Well, I know a lot of people who feel it's respectful to wait until after Remembrance Day. That was last weekend so it's fair game now. Yay!
