I put all my genius into my life; I put only my talent into my works.

my new digs

Well, I started the new job on Monday. I arrived at 7am, and my box from my old desk was all waiting there for me to unpack. I met with my supervisor for a little bit and then I was off to my desk to do computer based training. bor.ing.

One thing about my training is the former "trainer" on my team. She is no longer the trainer and is not supposed to be coming to me and checking in with me and stuff, but she is. So tomorrow I have to ask my supervisor just how much time he wants me to spend with her. The other two women who do intake (which is my area, the "trainer" does paternity) are supposed to do my training, and the time I've spent with them has been really valuable.

Today, one of the intake women took me down to juvenile court. Really, we just went to the JJC (juvenile justice center) but everyone calls it juvenile court anyway. We had to find a revocation of recognition of parentage, which involved looking at every document in a court case file. Good times. It was kind of interesting to see actually.

I also had lunch with Kristen today which was fun.

I think I'm going to like it here. I feel kind of bad that one year from now, I will be getting ready to quit and do my student teaching, but I need to live my life too. (I may take an extra year to finish school though, because I'm exhausted right now. We'll see.)

I hope everyone else's lives are going great.

Going to JJC sounds kinda like fun, actually. I'm glad you're enjoying your new job so far. :)

I used to go to the JJC almost every day. Just sayin'.

I don't get it... it looks like a normal keyboard to me. colonconfusedcolon

It's great to hear that you like your job so far. It definitely makes it easier to go into work when you enjoy what you are doing and the people you are with.

I'm with Beth, JJC would be pretty interesting to observe.

I do like the keyboard with lots of buttons. I think it's because I like to push buttons.

Beth-I'm sure the JJC can be fun, however, all I was doing was grabbing an order from a court file.

Nick, it has a lot of extra buttons on the top.

Rach, Lauren, I am enjoying it. Especially since the stupid lady isn't training me anymore.

T - you can push my buttons anytime, baby.

Toni - I love the lack of mold and mice!

Sarah- ha, I'm in that picture too, and I have a flip photo album, and I flip the photo everyday. TOday was Me, JoAnna, and Megan. Team Chipotle is in there, as is my Grandpa, and yes, a couple more of Nick and I.

I have to go back and check out this picture now.

I would love to go through those files.

Enjoy it and don't feel guilty for living YOUR life.
