A few months ago, my good friend, Carrie's, grandmother died. At the visitation, our old high school friend Angie. We chatted a bit, and decided that we'd have to get together soon. It was one of those "let's do lunch" but we'll probably never do it, kind of things. The next day at the funeral, another old high school friend, Maureen, (and her mother) came, and we made the same comment about getting together sometime in the future.
Well, we did it. Today we met at Olive Garden, and we sat for two hours and talked and laughed and reminisced and had a fabulous time. We graduated high school ten years ago this June, and we haven't all seen each other since then. Carrie and I are in contact pretty frequently, and Maureen and Angie had talked quite a bit, but the four of us hadn't all been together in nearly ten years.
I'm kicking myself a lot, because I didn't bring my camera, but we made concrete plans to do it again at the end of next month. I'm really looking forward to it, and I promise I'll bring the camera next time.
It was hard to believe how much we'd all changed. You see people getting together with old friends, and hear choruses of "you haven't changed a bit". But we've all changed. All of us are involved with significant others, Angie and Maureen are married, Carrie is engaged, Maureen and Carrie have children, we've all transgressed to different places than we last knew each other.
We spent some time reminiscing about high school and our exploits, of which there were plenty, but it was amazing how even though we've all changed, a lot, I don't think any of us are in places we thought we'd be ten years ago, but we were still able to talk about things current in our lives. It was a fabulous time, and I think that it will be just as fun next time. We're planning on getting together one more time, just the four of us, and then getting together with all of our significant others.
I can't wait.

That sounds great! What fun!
that is so totally rockin' awesome.
What fun! I met up with a few long losts at my reunion, but have not kept in touch with them since then, except for my friend Jane. I remember how nice it was to get to know her all over again. What a great feeling! I'm so excited for you, Dawn.
You still have a check at B. Dalton
