I chatter, chatter, as I flow, To join the brimming river, For men may come and men may go, But I go on forever

~Tennyson

Last night, Wednesday, Nick wanted to play in a Nintendo Ice Hockey video game tournament, organized by a local blogger he reads every day. Theresa and I decided we would be supportive girlfriend and friend, and headed to the Chatterbox Pub in Highland Park to have some cider, eats and watch.

Chatterbox Pub?

Coolest.Pub.Ever.

Theresa and I headed over early, because we were planning on having dinner as well as watching geeks play Nintendo (I use "geeks" very lovingly). We were seated at a booth on the bar side, with a funky lamp as our table lighting. Red light bulb. Very fun. Hunger attacked, so we ordered ourselves an order of Beer Cheese Fondue. This stuff comes with an unlimited supply of tortilla chips, and we took full advantage of that. Gooooood Stuff. We both ordered sandwiches/burgers for dinner, but the star of our table was the fondue. There are plans in the works for a fondue night where we start with the beer cheese, and finish off with the chocolate fondue for dessert.

After dinner, during which T and I battled another patron for top trivia honors (we lost), we decided to play some darts. We scrambled for change, and headed over, asked the bartender for darts and change. Turns out? Don't need the change. Darts are free at the Chatterbox. After some darts and ice hockey watching, we tried our hand at free "Golden Tee golf" video game and then headed back to our table for some Operation old school style.

All in all, a fantastic time, and probably my new favorite place. Holy moly, that was a good time.

PS, Nick won the nerd tournament. Good job, honey.

That pub sounds awesome.

Best blog post line I've read in a long time: "Nick won the nerd tournament. Good job, honey." I laughed out loud.
