Last Tuesday was my one-year anniversary. Congrats to me! I forgot and didn't realize it until Lauren posted her 50th post. So, in blatant theivery, I'm recapping my year.
March: I passed my 6 month probation here at work and received a raise and became a permanent employee. I don't htink much else exciting happened in march, indeed, my life was rather boring back then. I started my blog, thinking that there is no way anyone would ever read it, and what the heck would I say every day?
April: Um, my mom's birthday is in april, I started thinking about grad school and wehre i was going to go, what i was going to do.
May: I got a home computer, I started being a bad girl and taking batgirl threads off-topic with the help of others. I'm pretty sure I met Erika and Reid in May, however briefly.
June: Things perk up a bit here. I met batlings, Bobbi, beth, nick, barb, kristie, lots of batlings. batlings everywhere. They've infiltrated my life, and now not a day goes by that I don't talk to at least two of them on the phone or see one in person.
July: I met Sarah and Rachel. They both came down so we could all swim through downtown minneapolis together only to reverse direction and end up at grandma's. Again, they've infiltrated my life and not a day goes by that i don't get an email or message from both- oh, look email from sarah *goes to read*
August: I got a window cube at work. BIG DEAL, people. huge. I got to play tennis, which I love, quite a bit, with my mother mostly, but once with nick too. I went to a concert at the state fair. Which I hatehatehatehatehatehatehate (the fair, nto the concert). I was tricked into going.
September: Labor Day. The birth of Team Chipotle. I started liking this guy... I had my 200th post. The Twins finsihed their succesful bid to have a horrible season.
October: The countdown to spring training began, My posts caused much speculation in my friends, Kath and I went to the zoo, Nadia, joAnna And Erika and I went to the haunted maze, BEN FOLDS! I started dating this guy...
November: Erika, Kristie, NurseJenny and I went to Sioux Falls for Happy hour, we turned around and came back that night. Erika, beth and I went to Bismarck to visit Rachel. Spanish Class started getting REALLY fun. Started becoming better friends with briaƱ and the spanish peeps. I turned my notice in on my Horrible apartment.
December: um, christmas? sledding, skating and matt's. really december wasn't that exciting for me.
January: I switched my bloggin identity. I didn't go back to school. I moved out of my horrible apartment.
February: Sarah surprised us by coming to the cities for a weekend. Twas great. We had a ripping party. It was my birthday. i saw West Side Story with Toni. It was Rachel's birthday.
March: And here we are back at the beginning again. JoAnna and I went to Chicago. Life is good. i've been blessed (to use a corny word) in my relationships with others. I have great friends a great mother, and i can't believe I actually did this a year. I can't believe I didn't know the majority of people who make up my life a year ago. I can't belive how fast and deep my relationships with those people have grown, and I can't believe they picked me. So thanks guys.

Happy anniversary.
Aw, that was wonderful! Since I'm sorta new to your blogging universe, I liked getting a little perspective on you!
Lauren, I'm playing with doing a "My top ten favorite posts" list. stick around...
I will stick around... actually, I might have to blatantly steal that idea from you! Although I have fewer posts to choose from!
"I can't belive how fast and deep my relationships with those people have grown, and I can't believe they picked me. So thanks guys."
I agree with you 100% on this one.
"I can't believe I didn't know the majority of people who make up my life a year ago. I can't belive how fast and deep my relationships with those people have grown, and I can't believe they picked me. So thanks guys. "
Ditto.
And the Twins had a winning record last year. That's gotta count for something...
Lauren, it's harder than you think! there are some posts, where lone line makes me laugh, and some (like the towering inferno of flames story) that make me fall out of my chair laughing. Narrowing it down to ten is tough.
and T and Beth, I still can't believe it. Last year this time, we didn't know each other.
I love it! That was a great post. Your life really has undergone a lot of changes this year! I think my anniversary come sup in June so I may do the same thing, but I think I sort of did that in January, didn't I? That top ten posts is like something I've been mulling over too.
Here I am flaunting my ignorance:
-what exactly is a batling?
-can I hear the origin of Team Chipotle and get some insight into how it was named?
batlings are defined in my dictionary of people carly! you mean you don't read every post. *shock*
seriously, batlings are people I met through a twins baseball blog and subsequently we started a message board to communicate with.
team chipotle started labor day weekend, it's Sarah, Rachel, Theresa and I. Sarah could do the origin sotry better than me, because she is the captain after all.
:shame: i'm not sure i remember the story per se. here's what i've got though:
it was the saturday of labor day weekend and dawn had to go do some family stuff (valleyfair, methinks). the other three of us were doing god knows what around town and went to chipotle for lunch. fat and happy, we then decided to buy t-shirts. we got back in line and tried to order said t-shirts. the burrito artist, we'll call him, had a touch of trouble understanding our request.
me: can i get a t-shirt?
him: burrito?
us: no, teeeeeeee-shirt
laughs ensued.
selfishly, we didn't think of dawn, so when we got back to her apt. we turned right around and went back to chipotle to get her one too.
we played softball that weekend too with a million other batlings and we needed team names, so i'm all like "team chipotle" and the other was "team taco bell" or something. but i can't entirely remember if the four of us were specifically going around calling ourselves the team before the softball game occurred. the irony in that anyway is that i was the only member of what we now know as team chipotle playing for, uh, team chipotle. rach was umpiring and t and dawn were on team taco bell.
my team won, by the bye.[/hypercompetitiveness]
my t-shirt says addicted.
girls, here's your turn to chime in with corrections, additions, ommisions, what-have-you.
It was on Sunday of Labor Day weekend. I remember because I drove down on Saturday in a monsoon and surprised the crap out of you. We were at the Twins game on Sunday afternoon.
And my shirt says "Life is Burritoful."
and when I say "surprised the crap out of you" I mean surprised the crap out of Sarah. Dawn knew I was coming. We called it "Operation Ninja".
aha! saturday was the pro shop ad matt's bar. you're right.
Oh yes, the pro shop. Hee. I went to the one in Roseville last weekend, but it wasn't nearly as fun without the rest of Team Chipotle.
i don't know what is so special about the one in apple valley, but i [heart] it and try to visit every time i am up there. the one in roseville is kinda smallish. i have never been to the minnetonka one, however.
Yes, you were selfish! *still bitter* ok, not really. I miss the pro shop. I've been to Roseville and Apple Valley, but never Minnetonka.
You're bitter because I went to the Pro Shop? Why? I didn't go to the Pro Shop when I went shoe shopping without you. I stopped there last Sunday on my roundabout way home from church.
no, rach, i was still being bitter you forgot about me at chipotle labor day weekend. it was in response to sarah, not you.
Oh. Ok. Sorry about that, then.
That comment delete was me. I was just asking how to upload a picture for my profile pic. I found out how. How do you like my new one? Congrats on the whole year on your blog. I fixed the comments thing so you can leave them.
